Adminius was founded in November 2010 to serve as an independent back-office for licensors and licensing companies and is specialized in optimizing royalty revenue from concluded licensing agreements. Our highly sophisticated software is capable of handling the most complex licensing situations. Two major customers are One-Blue and One-Red. One-Blue is the patent pool for Blu-ray technology and One-Red is the one-stop patent license solution for CD/DVD technology.
After the successful launch of Adminius as a back-office, we joined forces with Profirm in order to further expand the customer base. Profirm stands for ‘Professionals in Royalty Management’ and will offer services under the Adminius label.
Adminius provides administration and registration services to licensors and licensing companies. We process (cross) licensing agreements, invoice to and collect from licensees, and distribute the royalties amongst the patent owners. We enable licensees to report royalties via a web portal and invoice the royalties, taking all domestic royalty related taxes and international tax treaties into account.
Depending on the licensors’ or licensing companies’ specific requirements, Adminius designs and builds IT solutions to accommodate those custom needs enabling standardization and automation of our processes.
Our company is run by highly qualified finance and control specialists,
specifically in the field of royalty administration and management. Meet the executive team:
Mr. Timmers started his career in 2005 after finishing his Master of Science degree in Business Administration at Tilburg University. As a financial consultant, he worked at Royal Philips, NXP Semiconductors, SPAR International, and Ericsson where he successfully completed the migration of the financial administration to a Shared Service Center in Poland and the implementation of a new ERP system.
By means of an open, direct, and hands-on approach he always achieved the desired result. He held several positions as financial and business controller. During an assignment at Philips Intellectual Property & Standards in 2010, he started working in the intellectual property business.
It was during that time that he was asked to design and set up a back-office for the financial administration of several patent pools. Two years after the back-office, called Adminius, was completed and fully operational, he joined forces with Mr. Menken and Mr. Wiersma in setting up their new company, Profirm.
Mr. Wiersma started his career in 1991 at Royal Philips, a Consumer Electronics company located in The Netherlands. He held several positions in finance, varying from business unit controller within the Philips Components Division and LG-Philips Displays, and CFO of the business group Molecular Diagnostics to Global Process Owner Finance for Philips Corporate Technologies within the Philips Finance Excellence Network. His main achievements were, amongst others, relocating factories to low wage countries, setting up a Shared Service Center in Poland, and forming a start-up company for a new product. During his last assignment at Philips Intellectual Property & Standards he became involved in the world of intellectual property. It was at that time that he founded his own company called Adminius, which performs back-office services specifically in the area of intellectual property. Three years later he joined forces with Mr. Menken and Mr. Timmers and they jointly set up their new company, Profirm.
